The Cuticle

The cuticle is the outer layer of colorless cells, which forms a protective surface to the hair; it protects the hair from excessive heat and drying. The cuticle cells over lap like tiles on a roof, they all face in the same direction from root to tip. Hair that is in good condition has tightly closed cuticles, hair that is in poor condition has damaged or partially missing cuticles.

We only use the finest quality remy human hair for your extensions. Remy means that the hair cuticles are still in tact and face root to tip like your own hair.

Hair Standards

Although there are various different qualities of human hair available on the market it all tends to originate from either china or India therefore it is classed as Asian hair.

Human hair packaging will state that it is European hair, which would suggest that it originates from European countries however this is not the case. What the label is referring to is that the texture of the human hair is European not the origin.

True European Hair

Is of a fine texture and only very small quantities of it can be found on the market at the moment simply because very few European women are willing to sell their hair. The hair that is available is extremely expensive and it originates from Russia and Poland.

Brushed Fallen Hair (Non Remy Hair)

This is Asian hair that is gathered from brushes, the hair that is collected is different lengths and thicknesses, also the hair cuticles lie in different directions. This hair is then put through harsh processing to help prevent tangling, which then results in the cuticle being striped and the hair being poor quality.

Advantages:

• Very cheap to buy
• Easy to obtain
• Available in various colours and textures

Disadvantages:

• Hair tangles and matts easily
• Hair becomes very dry
• Heat styling cause further damage
• Only tends to stay in good condition for a few weeks
• When washed matts and tangles easily

Asian Remy Hair

Hair is collected from temples, the cuticle layers are all facing in the same direction from root to tip. Careful processing methods are used which do not strip the cuticle.

Advantages: When you use Remy hair for your extensions the hair will move and behave like your own hair, making them look completely natural; Hair is soft manageable and shiny; Hair will stay in excellent condition for up to 6 months; Responds well to heat styling; Can be coloured; Easy to wash; Will not tangle matt or dry out available in various colours and textures. Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than brushed fallen hair.

Asian virgin Remy hair

Asian hair that is left in its natural state.

It has not been chemically treated only cleaned.

Advantages:

• Has all the advantages that non virgin Remy hair has.
• Hair is in pristine condition extra shine, silky soft.
• Curly virgin hair (natural curl not permed).

Disavantages:

• More expensive than Remy hair.
• Only available in very dark colours due to its asian origin.
